Day 29: Favorite TV Shows and Why
-The Office (granted I feel that the quality is steadily declining...and Will Ferrell? Really?)
Why? It is hilarious. It has become my family's TV show. We quote it all the time. What I am saying is that this show is a family bonding experience. Haha. And I love (most of) the awkward humor.
-Boy Meets World
Why? I grew up with that show. It is also hilarious. You just feel like you relate to the characters...and you gotta love the Feeney call. This show has a special place in my heart.
Really those are my only FAVORITES. Shows I also enjoy include:
Community
Parks & Rec
Modern Family
House
Criminal Minds
Desperate Housewives (I know)
Day 30: Movies I Can Watch Again and Again
-Disturbia
-Hook
-Sweet Home Alabama
-Salt
-Get Smart
-27 Dresses
-Inception
-Step Up
-Remember the Titans

Day 27: My Day Job vs. My Passion
My day job is a Customer Service rep/Trainer at BYU Independent Study. Here is my picture from the photo directory in all of its shiny-faced horror.

Buuut....since the magical world doesn't exist (which I KNOW it doesn't because I absolutely refuse to accept the idea that if it does, I'm a Muggle), my dream job would be working with youth. And I was too lazy to find/make a picture of this. Troubled youth, abused children, whatever. I love it all.
And I really hope that when I'm married and live in a family ward, I'll get called into Young Women. Now I probably jinxed myself.

Day 24: Favorite Quote/Scripture
Alma 26:12
"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever."

Day 22: What Makes Me Different
Catch up.
Cue: Backstreet Boys "What Makes You Different"
Ahem.
Well, I am not sure what makes me different. I asked Ashley and she said my sense of humor. Which I suppose is true because I'm, well, kind of a freak. I think things are funny that everyone else thinks are weird/immature/dumb etc. I also make witty jokes that are often plays on words that nobody gets. So I look dumb, or I laugh alone.
I guess the combination of being left-handed and adopted also makes me different.
I would say that I never match my socks, but Lacey's started doing it too. I've done it since I was like 14. I started because I liked having variety and now I kind of just do it because it's too much of a pain to sort my socks after I do laundry so I just grab the first two that are roughly the same size.
Um....I'm a white girl that speaks Spanish? That's not different for BYU but for the rest of the world I think it is.
To end how I started, I still love Backstreet Boys. Yeah boy, that love has been going on since I was 9.
Other than that, I really don't know. I feel kind of like what Lauren said in her post about this....we are all different together. Our differences make us similar. I think it's just the random combinations of traits that make us unique. So there ya go.

Day 21: What Makes Me Happy
Tuesday, March 22, 2011
Day 20: A Letter.
Catch up.
Dear Katherine,
You are my babooshka, my puddle of warmth, my makooshla. Your graceful elegance brightens my day with the hope of a better world.
Your inspiring dance moves inspire me to inspire other people, and I love you. I love the way you sleep like a mummy, with your hands crossed over your chest. You look so peaceful. Now I sound like a creeper. Change of direction.
Your sarcasm is so funny. You say you love when I get all defensive and mamma-bearish, but I love it just as much when you do that because you get out the whole finger-snapping head-shaking black-girl-authority and people quiver in their stupid little boots.
Anyways, I love you and I'm glad you are my roommate forever and ever and ever.
Love,
Falala
P.S. I love men.
Day 19: Sweet Memory
Ketchup.

So I have totally been slacking......losing motivation....being too tired etc.
I have so many great memories I am trying to decide which one to write about.
Maybe I'll write about the times where my brother and I stayed up until ridiculous hours
of the morning making amazing movies such as "Baby Time" and "Gangsta vs. Nerd." Not only was it fun making the movies and acting like idiots, but it was when we first started making movies that really brought my brother and I close to each other. He is such an awesome kid and I love getting to spend time with him and doing crazy/ridiculous things with him.
Or perhaps I'll write about the time that I got grounded for three weeks in high school and my good friend Nick Reyes took pity on me and brought me a "Grounding Survival Kit." It was complete with an entire box (as in Costco box, not dinky 6-package box) of Gushers, dinosaur sponge capsules, and much more.

There are also those times where I'm woken up from a nap by my dear doggy licking my arm. I love it. And I realize I already posted this picture but this is just fitting since he is licking his snout.

Or last summer. That was perfect.
Like how I cheated? :]

Day 18: Plans/Dreams/Goals
I feel like this is quite similar to my bucket list.
Plans
-Get my bachelor's in Sociology and my minor in Spanish
-Work with troubled youth
-Get married
-Go to graduate school for either psychology or social work (and to be completely honest, this will depend on my marital etc. situation)
-Raise my family in the gospel
-Make my house awesome
-Travel the world
Dreams
-Live in a tree house. Like a giant house made of wood in a tree. (too bad Jon and I broke up, we were going to build a tree fort up in the mountains :[ )
-Fly
-Get a 4.0
Goals
-Open something to sell my stuff (wow descriptive)
-everything under "plans"
-lose some weight
-eat healthier
-run

Day 17: Trading Lives for a Day
So this one was hard. And I have come to the conclusion that I do not think I'd want to trade lives with someone for a day. Even though there are times when my life sucks, I like my lyfe too much to trade.
Either that or I'd be a mountain for a day.

Day 15: iPod on Shuffle
So I'm nervous what will come up but here it goes.
1. Give It Up --Midtown
2. Candy --Mandy Moore (oh geez)
3. 4 AM --Willknots
4. Whatever You Like --T.I.
5. Blackbird --The Beatles
6. Break Myself --Something Corporate
7. Copasetic --Local H
8. The Hell Song --Sum 41
9. Pretty Girl --Sugarcult
10. Anthem of Our Dying Day --Story of the Year
I guess that wasn't TOO horribly bad.
Day 13: Five Favorite Books
Catch up!
So I'm not as well-read as I wish I were. And I have many other favorite books but at this moment, these are my favs.
Harry Potter series. Is there really an explanation needed? I've been in love with the books (and Ron Weasley) since I was ten years old. I love the magic, I love that it's well-written, and I love that I grew up with the students of Hogwarts. Like me, Harry, Ron, and Hermione have always been the same age during the releases of the books.

The Continuous Atonement. I haven't finished this book yet, but Lacey gave it to me for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it. It makes you feel so much better and more hopeful about your life.

Speak. This is a really good book. Very simply written and kind of a different style. But it's all about a girl who learns to find her voice again (not her literal voice, but you know what I mean) after a traumatic event happened. Also highly recommend.
The Alchemist. Amazing book. I've actually done a post about it before. But Jon Reyes gave it to me, and kind of like Speak, it's about a boy who finds his life, who finds his personal treasure. It has a really good moral....it starts out kind of slow but read it and keep going!! So good.
And finally, The Book of Mormon. This one really doesn't need an explanation, it's just great. :]

Day 12: Love Poem
Catch up!
This is crappy crap buuutt....
You are an unfailing friend
Always there to greet me with warmth, kindness and love
Your sweet spirit shows through your eyes
And I know that you love me
I never have to question
You've never let me down
You know just how to make me smile when I'm sad
I never have to worry
The distance sometimes kills me
But our reunions are so sweet
I'll never waste a moment
You are the best I could ask for
And to think we almost never met
I will never regret it
I hope you know how much I care
And how much you mean to me. You are perfect.
I will never cease to love you.
Yes it is about my dog.

Day 11: Bucket List
Catch up! Geez I'm so behind.
Really fast here's my excuse!! My dearest friends from home (Travis, Jorge, Celesta, and Brianna) came up to visit me Thursday and left Monday. So of course I wasn't going to waste my time blogging when I could party with them.
Also my boyfriend Jon and I broke up so that kinda sucked. But it was good.
One thing that sucks about that was that Lacey is dating his brother Ryan. Lacey and I have had a collective nickname since high school...Latha. So we called ourselves Latha and the Ames Brothers. We were awesome. And we all would sit on the couch holding hands (Ryan, Lacey, me, Jon). I was going to do an awesome post about the whole thing but then everything got shot to crap. Maybe I still will just for kicks and giggles, who knows.
ALRIGHT.
Bucket List:
1. Go sky-diving.
2. Go paragliding.
3. Go to Stonehenge.
4. Go to Italy.
5. Go to somewhere in South America, probably Chile.
6. Get married and have a family (this really should be #1 but I'm too lazy to rearrange it).
7. Become fluent in Spanish.
8. Learn a third language.
9. Do some sort of huge awesome service project.
10. Work with troubled youth.
11. Perfect my guitar skillz.
12. Serve a mission with my husband.
13. Go to Africa.
14. Go to Greece.
15. Meet Rupert Grint.
16. See Muse in concert.
17. Become an awesome seamstress.
18. Open up my own shop (real or online) to sell my headbands and beanies and stuff.
19. Open a bakery (perhaps me and Matt's idea for our restaurant/bakery called Shenanigans).
20. Hike a really, really tall mountain and get to the very top.
21. Make my children lots of adorable vintagey clothes for super cheap.
22. Have a huge garden.
23. Visit the South.
24. Go to Harry Potter World (honeymoon here I come! Hope my husband doesn't mind).
25. Become so awesome at cooking that I don't even have to use recipes--just do my own thing.
There's a ton more but for lazy/not-wanting-to-inflict-you-all-with-all-my-crazy-desires-and-dreams reasons, I will end.

Day 10: Songs
Catch up!
I haven't blogged for a few days now because my dear friends from Arizona were in town all weekend. So here's to day 10.
As a heads up, I had an incredibly hard time narrowing it down to which songs fit best for each emotion. So you'll be getting a couple for some of them. (Also Lauren I liked your idea of posting it from Youtube...hope ya don't mind!)
Happy
TGIF by The Secret Handshake
For the Longest Time by Sherwood
Blind Lead the Blind by Dusty Rhodes and the River Band
Brat Pack by The Rocket Summer
Sad
Fall by Something Corporate
Can't Be Saved by Senses Fail
Buried a Lie by Senses Fail
Bored
Wasted and Ready by Ben Kweller (sorry if this one has an ad first...)
Hyped
Supermassive Black Hole by Muse
Mad
Open Up by Punchline
Vices by Brand New (I know...it's screamy hahah. And it starts out with a weird like vintagey creepy thing but I couldn't find a whole version on Youtube that was appropriate video-wise)
Inspiring (okay cheesey I know, and I added this one on)
All I Have by The Rocket Summer
Do You Feel by The Rocket Summer (again, apologies if there's an ad...)
