Gotta Share This One.

So I know I don't look particularly lovely in this photo, but I love it. Dan's cousin captured it while we were all up at their grandma's dry farm. (I went with Dan to his family reunion in Idaho Falls this last weekend.)

Poll.

I want to get as many opinions as possible. So if I don't know you, feel free to comment. If you are a blog stalker (though I doubt I have any...), feel free to comment. And, of course, if you are a friend, feel free to comment. This is just for fun.
(And for those of you who always mix the names up like I did before I was an ice cream server, the one on the left is a sugar cone and the one on the right is a cake cone.)

Harry Potter

The Era of Harry Potter is quickly drawing to a close. I (as well as most of you) literally grew up with Harry Potter. We were always the same age. Every year or two we'd get a new book and/or movie. And now, the final movie is coming out....Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two.

Rest assured I have already purchased my tickets to the midnight showing.

I had a goal to reread the Harry Potter series before the last movie came out. Mistake: I didn't start reading them til....like May or something. Then school started. Needless to say, I'm only about 1/4 of the way through the fourth book. I was totally stressing out and had Ashley bring her seventh book to me so I could just skip the rest and read it before the last movie came out.

Today at work, I finally opened the book and was overwhelmed with stress. I was skipping 2 3/4 books, and I was going to have to find time to read this 759-page book in a week, while staying on top of my school work, while having my family here (YAY!). Do you see my dilemma?

As I opened the book, I expressed my concern and stress to Ashley (probably for the twelfth time). And she said: "Lisa. You are crazy. You're acting like you're going to fail something if you don't read this book. I don't know why you're doing this, you don't HAVE to have it read before the movie. And besides, if you read it right before the movie, the movie may dissapoint you."

That was a big slap in the head! Sometimes I get into these mindsets of how something HAS to work that I don't consider other and more viable possibilities. So, I gave her back the seventh book and am continuing the fourth.

Anyways, I just want to express my love for the Harry Potter series. Love expressed.

On a somewhat related note, Ashley introduced me to this funny website.... Dear Blank Please Blank. I caution you some of the things posted are not up to par with good standards. However, there is a lot of hilarious stuff too. To keep with the Harry Potter theme, here are a few samples of my favorites:

Dear Cedric Diggory,
Vampires don't sparkle. 20 points from Hufflepuff!
Sincerely, Snape

Dear Rebecca,
You are a disgrace to the family name.
Sincerely, Sirius.

Dear Edward,
This is why you were in Hufflepuff.
Sincerely, The Sorting Hat

Dear Jacob Black,
I noticed you drive a motorcycle and turn into a huge dog. How original.
Sincerely, Sirius Black.

Dear dad,
Please stop, this game of 'got your nose' has gone on far too long.
Sincerely, Voldemort.

and my favorite:

Dear Twilight fans,
Let's do some math! Harry Potter > Voldemort. Voldemort > Cedric Diggory. Cedric Diggory = Edward Cullen. Therefore, Harry Potter > Edward Cullen.
Sincerely, suck on that.

Love, Lisa
