Poems and Such

Before I write my poems for Rhonda, I have to say something about my last post. It's as if Heavenly Father read the part about Stephen (probably because He DID! haha) because the very next day things got so much better!!!! I am happy :D And I am SO glad that I have Stephen in my life!

Alright. I like to write poems too, but here are a few that are spins off of nursery rhymes I wrote many many years ago.

Hickory Dickory Dock
Hickory dickory dock
Fish jumped on Johann Bach
Bach sneezed "ACHOO!"
From his wig flew
Not any fish, but a hawk

Little Miss Muffet
Little Miss Muffet
Sat on her tuffet
Eating her chicken feet
Then came a cute spider
It sat down beside her
She squashed it and made it her treat

Jack and Jill
Jack and Jill
Went up the hill
To fetch a pail full of Sprite
Jack fell down
And broke his crown
Jill laughed with all her might

Humpty Dumpty
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
An omelette is what our egg-friend became
And Little Bo Peep was the one to blame

I hope you enjoy them!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

What's going on in my brain. Dedicated to Linda Guthrie.

Alright. Here is the long-ago-promised blog on none other than my brain.

To start off: Proposition 102

This is the back of Stephen's car. He had me write it about a month or so ago.

Every Saturday night, Stephen and I go to Red Robin with some of our friends. A few weeks ago on the way home from Red Robin, we were in the right lane and this car in the left lane passed us and I noticed that the passenger window was cracked open, literally about 3 inches. And as the car passed us, the girl in the passenger seat jammed her hand out the crack and flipped us off so that her finger was pointing down to the road. It looked really funny. It was actually really hilarious. So Stephen and I were laughing about it and he sped up next to them. Instead of putting more effort into squeezing her hand out the window again, the girl just flipped us off again through the window. Stephen said, "I don't think they read it enough" and zoomed ahead of them and pulled in front of them. He kept a steady pace with the car in the lane next to us so that the flip-us-off people couldn't pass. Haha.

The next week, which I believe was two weeks ago, we were on the way to Red Robin. We were stopped at the light and had our windows down. While we were waiting for the light to turn green, we heard screaming and shouting. I thought it was just some punk kids on the sidewalk somewhere a little ways back, but Stephen thought it was the people behind us because apparently they said something about "Why do you have to be hating!?!?" haha. Sure enough, when the light turned green, we heard an engine pumping so hard it sounded like it was going to explode, and the car behind us pulled out, zoomed past (while the girl who was driving flipped us off) and sped off. Wow, they were so cool. Especially since they got stopped at the exact same light as us moments later hahaha. Well, we knew their windows were down, and ours were down, and as we neared them at the light, Stephen told me not to say anything and to not even look at them at first.

So we stopped next to them and the girl was like "WHAT!? Don't you have anything to say!?!?!" And she went ON and ON cussing up a storm dropping the f-bomb everywhere and by this time we were both looking at her. There was another girl in the front seat, and I think 2 guys in the back seat. I think the driver girl said something about one or both of the guys were gay. I don't know, she wasn't making any sense. "GAYS HAVE ^%*$@(# RIGHTS TOO! HOW CAN YOU ^*$%*$ THINK THEY DON'T HAVE RIGHTS $*%#&#%*" was about what she was saying. First of all, Stephen's window says nothing about gays and their rights. Gays have every right straight people have. We all have the right to marry someone of the opposite gender. I don't have the right to marry a woman. Not that I'd ever want to. ANYWAYS finally I got fed up with this stupid girl and I turned to her and said, "You have every right to write whatever you want on your car!" Of course she was ranting so she didn't hear me and said, "What??" so I repeated myself. She started yelling at me so Stephen rolled up my window. Which was a good thing because I know I would have lost control haha....I was about to explode. Anyways yeah, they flipped us off a few more times and whatnot. Idiots...

Like I (think) I said in my previous blog, everyone can think whatever they want!!! Just leave other people alone. Yelling your opinion at other people won't make people change their minds. This kid in my Spanish class one day was wearing a shirt that said "LOUDER doesn't make you right." AMEN!!!!!!!!

On to other matters. So Stephen and his friend Seth (who started the whole Red Robin thing) have YSA callings in their ward/stake and they are SUPER supportive of 102. This is great! We all should be. But yeah I mean they are planning a lot of stuff. They made literally hundreds of little flyers to hand out and put on cars about this meeting they're organizing this Saturday. At this meeting pretty much they'll have signs and door hangers and I think papers or more flyers to go around door to door and explain/put on doors. Wow bad sentence. Anyways. So Stephen has been pretty busy with this the past few days. I'm proud of him for being so motivated and supportive. The only bad thing is that I wanted him to hang out with me on Halloween (me, Anamin, Jordan, Jorge, Travis, Celesta, and Brianna are hanging out...and you guys can come too if you want). Well I guess he said that I should plan on him not being able to go unless he finds out he can because he has a lot of stuff to do for this thing on Saturday. That's fine and I totally understand, it just kind of sucks though because it's like this always happens. Stephen and I rarely do anything together with just us or with friends anymore. I mean we do the whole Red Robin thing but those are HIS friends (of course they're mine now too but you know what I mean). It just seems like he's never interested in getting to know MY friends too well and it kind of hurts my feelings.

Yeah...I'm not trying at ALL to talk bad about Stephen because he is so great!! But sometimes I just feel taken for granted...He's always either doing homework and (now) working on Prop 102 stuff, and when he's got free time he's playing this stupid computer game. At my house. He literally plays it for hours every week even if I ask him to do something with me like just run an errand. Every now and then he'll come but usually he'll say he just doesn't want to or something. And this game also drives me crazy because whenever he's playing it and I say something to him, I have to repeat almost everything I say at least once, usually more. I hate it!!! I sound so selfish and jealous but he hardly ever pays attention to me anymore!!! And lately the way he's been acting makes me feel like I'm really annoying him (although when I ask if he's mad he says no). It really sucks and it really hurts, especially since I'll basically drop anything I'm doing to help him or do something with him. He just doesn't seem to care about DOING things anymore. He's at my house almost 24/7...he's here all day (except school of course) and he basically only goes home to sleep. I'm kind of getting tired of it because I can imagine how he's thinking..."I do stuff with Lisa all the time because I'm with her all the time." Well playing Starcraft in my front room while I'm sitting in my dining room just doesn't qualify as spending time with me. I feel bad saying this but in a way I wish he wasn't here all the time and that we didn't see each other as often, because then he would value our time together more and would make it a point to make me feel special and important. He would actually focus on me and our relationship instead of just sitting around doing nothing. Whatever.

I love Stephen to death and he REALLY is a great boyfriend!! Right now is just kind of a "rough patch" and that's mostly because he doesn't know I feel this way. I don't want to bug him about it because I know he's busy. If it keeps up after this thing on Saturday though I'll mention it. Anyways I'm really glad and blessed to have Stephen in my life and the good still outweighs the bad. :]

Since this is a pretty long post I'll just end with one more thing on my brain tonight: work. Tonight was crazy!!! It was stressful and irritating too for several reasons:

1) I was working on bar with Michael tonight. He was using his beer tap and since it hasn't been used for several days, all the beer was super foamy. And so of course it went all over the floor. This is not Michael's fault at all, it happens all the time. I spilled ice all over the place. So there was melted ice and beer covering the floor. My work shoes are the shoes I bought my freshman year in high school...they're 4-5 years old and have HUGE holes in them. So as you may have guessed, my feet were soaked in cold water and beer all night. When I got home I took my shoes off and smelled my feet--a lovely combination of stinky feet due to wet shoes plus beer. In fact, so much beer soaked into my toes that I'm hoping I didn't break the Word of Wisdom! Haha.

2) After the huge rush ended, some guy came up to me and he said rather gruffly, "You shorted us a drink." He was kind of mad. Okay first of all accidents happen and we're more than happy to comply!! Second of all, he said he ordered 7 soft drinks and the most anyone ordered from me at a time was 4. I heard Michael say something about 7 drinks to one of his customers. So I knew the guy was wrong and that I had not shorted him but Michale had. Like I said, accidents happen and I wasn't mad at Michael at all. I was so mad at the guy though because he was being really rude and when I told him I didn't think I had served him, he said, "Yes you did! Well my dad and his friend!" EXACTLY!!!!!! So he wasn't even there to know which one of us gave them their drinks!!!! Whatever.

3) Tonight was Michael's first night scraping the ice out of the ice cream freezer. I've found that the first time you scrape usually takes the longest. Well of course once he started scraping, a million people came and started ordering ice cream from him so he had to put everything back and basically start all over again after like a half hour. I felt bad for him. Then when he had finished (after about another half hour) and had put everything back, he asked if it looked good. I checked it out and I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but it honestly looked like he hadn't scraped at all! I knew Tripper or Jack would have to have him redo it so I just pointed out where it looked like it needed more scraping (which was about the entire front half) then he had to take everything apart again and spent another half hour scraping. I really felt bad for him! But at the same time it was really stressful because I had to do ALL of the things on the closing list by myself. So it took me til about 9:40 to close. Again, not blaming Michael at all, I totally understand. The end.

Sorry this blog ended up being obnoxiously long. But this is my brain as of right now! Hope you enjoy! Good night!

Scattered

Okkaay. I told Linda that I would write a blog about my brain. And that I would include pictures. Well it's kind of late right now and I don't have all the pictures I need for the blog I have in mind so that will have to wait for a day or two. But it will come! :D

Also, I don't get why people can't just respect that there ARE people besides themselves who have opinions!!!!! (AKA No on prop 102 supporters...not all of them though). This will be included in my next blog. I can't get worked up about it tonight. That's already happened and I was shaking I was so mad!!!

Random sidenote: I have the wierdest bruise on my foot. It's on the top of my foot on the little bone thing that extends from my big toe to my ankle and it's kind of shaped like this: 0 Yes, with no bruise in the center. And it hurts! Don't know how it got there.

Also, Michelle texted me and told me that the giant party (a marching band!! :D) that came into work tonight left a tip big enough for everyone who was working to get 9 dollahs! Sweet! Tips just make me so glad! That's one thing I like about working on bar. Otherwise I like line better. Anyways.

I will close this blog with a new Chuck Norris joke I heard from my brother:

Chuck Norris can do a wheelie on a unicycle.

Good night!

Irritattiioonn.....

I AM TIRED!!!! I WANT TO GO TO BEEDDDD!!!!!!

So I am taking this ridiculous computer class. The reason I say it is ridiculous is because even though he's a nice guy, the teacher has NO CLUE what he's doing!!!!!!! I have that class Tuesday and Thursday. I also have English Tuesday and Thursday. WELL. This week on Tuesday when we all got to our computer class, everyone was like, "Oh no! There's a test Thursday!" (tomorrow...which is technically today.) And our teacher said, "The test is actually next week." The syllabus says it is this week but he kept saying that it's next week so we figured that he had just changed the schedule. That was a relief to me because my rough draft for my paper is due in English on Thursday. Today. Whatever. So that reduced a LOT of homework/study time...because when we have tests in the computer class there are actually 2 tests--one on whatever program we're learning about (this time is PowerPoint), and the other on 3 chapters from our book. So yeah I was super relieved.

So yesterday (as in Tuesday) I spent time on my Spanish homework (time being about 2 1/2 hours haha). Much to my dismay, when I got off work that night, I had a voicemail from none other than my computer teacher. "Hi Lisa, this is Ryan Bowles your computer teacher. I was just calling to let you know that there was some confusion and the test is actually THIS Thursday, NOT NEXT Thursday. So good luck and study hard! See you in class." WHAT THE HEEECCCKKK!!!!!!! So yeah as you might be able to guess, I have been BUSY with my English paper today. I just barely finished it and it's 1 o'clock in the morning. I worked on it virtually all afternoon (I had to work tonight). If I had known that the test really was this week, I could have studied for it more yesterday instead of so much Spanish!! I am SO MAD!!!!! I know it was a mistake but it is really not fair of my teacher to expect us to miraculously have enough time to study 100-some-odd pages of text AND review the usage of an entire program with one day's notice (although I do appreciate that he told us which topics to study in the book). So yeah. 1 AM and I'm about to start studying those 100-some-odd pages and wake up in a few hours for school. Maybe I'll just pull an all-nighter. I HATE all-nighters, they make me feel like poop.

Well I just needed to vent for a minute before I start on the abhorred abhorrance. Gahhh death. I really want to sleep. Maybe tomorrow. Fare thee well. Or not well.
