If I was rollin' in the dough....

Alright so lately I've had a lot of things on my "want" list. Absolutely none of them are needs. But if I were to have more money I might waste some of it on the following. Here goes:

Getting my hair done. Not necessarily like this, I just like her hair.
I kind of want undertones.
(P.S. I think I'm going to let my hair go back to its natural color.)
$30-$60

Get new acrylics.
Not right now, though, just sometime.
But those of you who know me know I'm more of a black-tip fan...
$25-$40

One of the three following tees.
(The Rocket Summer is a band...listen on my music at the bottom.)
$16

$16

On sale for $5.99...I just might get it!
And this Rocket Summer hoodie.
Cute paper cranes.
$40

I discovered this new band Goot.
Actually it's a boy named Alex Goot. Similar to Rocket Summer.
Great music.
$15

I bought two of Goot's albums.
This is one I don't have.
$9.99

The Pink Floyd shirt I have has many holes. So sad.
I am in want of a new one.
$20

This awesome Muse shirt.
One of my favorite bands and I don't have any of their merch...
How did that happen??
$20

A pair of red-orange Vans.
I'm not really sure why I like this color so much, and it matches
with approximately one shirt that I own.
That I can think of anyway.
$40

I just love this picture.
But it represents new speakers for my car (*cough* since I blew mine out!).
(Rough estimate...) $150 and up. Way up.

And finally a bread machine for my mom.
Especially since Sunday is Mothers' Day/her Birthday.
Hers broke a little while ago.
$70-$100

I feel very greedy posting this. But it's just a wish list. Maybe I'll slowly make my way through it while still saving money. Sometimes I wonder why I couldn't be one of those random kids who happened to have a great job fall into their laps right out of high school. By great I mean benefits and a salary. Hmm.

Anyways, for a while (and maybe forever) the majority of these lovely items will be but a fantasy!

In other news: My life has reached a turning point of sorts.

Things are getting better with a certain friend of mine, which is very good and quite a relief. :]
I have missed our friendship.

I'm going to start going to the singles' ward in two weeks. More people my age. More friends. Future hubs????? Sooo scary! I will miss my little buddy Mario though. I'm going to go over to his house this week to take him a goodbye present and get a pic with him...I'll post it here when I do, if I remember.

I've decided I just want to stop trying to please everyone all the time. If this means sticking up for myself when someone I love is being (intentionally or unintentionally) condescending, so be it (yes, I have a specific person in mind. And no, it is not any of you dear bloggers). I am kind of tired of sacrificing my toes so I don't step on other people's toes. Now I'm not saying that I will purposely "step on people's toes," I'm just saying I've had enough of people doing it to me, especially when they know they do it (again, none of you). I will not adjust/alter my opinions to make other people like or view me better. I will learn to stand by myself. Not as in isolate myself and think I'm all high and mighty and better than everyone. Because I'm not. But just learn how to support myself when other people fall in and out of my life.

I've taken care of some stuff in my life that has needed sorting out. Over and done with, hopefully forever.

Stephen has a new girlfriend, and he was kind of rude about it. I miss the friendship I had with him and have doubts about whether it will continue at all or not. We can't hang out one-on-one anymore, and he never invites me to any group things we used to do. I was (and perhaps still am) bitter about the way he's been treating me, but I've decided if he's willing to throw away everything we had and how close we were together and not even try to maintain any type of friendship, maybe he's just not a good friend and I shouldn't waste my time or my emotions. That sounds really cold of me but he has hurt me possibly more than anyone else in the world. I still care for him, but I'm learning not to let that control my emotions when he treats me like a fish or a wall or something else lacking feelings and other humanesque qualities.

School's almost out; this means more time for projects. Thoroughly cleaning the bedroom. Sewing..who knows what? Bags, skirts, baby blankets for a certain pregnant lady... Organizing my stuff. Volunteering perhaps. Other stuff I had in mind that has escaped me at the moment...Oh yeah possibly adopting/training Joseph's dog. Hah.

Anyways, I know this is a totally random blog. I guess it's kinda to keep tabs on myself!

See all of you wonderful people later.

Night.

Wow!

This is my dear friend Mitch. We went to high school together and were friends our senior year (yes, he is my age, despite the fact that he looks like he's in junior high). I hadn't seen him since graduation and the only time we'd talked since then was the typical new-friends-on-facebook-say-hi type of thing. He's going to that Advancing Technology school (can't remember the name) and this picture is from when they had a fake blood bash.

Well about a month ago, he randomly sent me a message on Facebook asking if I was in town and, if I was, if I wanted to be in a movie he was making. It was a 5-minute "horror" film (it wasn't exactly horrifying, just creepy). He started out writing it for fun and showed it to his teacher, who said it was really good and he should turn it into his end-of-the-semester project. Basic plot:

A man is driving in the middle of nowhere and sees a ghost-like girl (ME!) walking on the side of the road. He drives past her and looks back but she is not in the rear-view mirror. He turns the radio on and the announcer says there is a crash nearby and that emergency vehicles are on their way. He sees the girl again and this time pulls over to ask if she's okay. Turns out it was her prom night and her date was a creep so she decided to walk home. He offers her a ride and she (stupidly) accepts. As they drive, they come upon the accident and pull over. The girl gets out to see if the man inside the truck is okay. She opens the door, he falls out dead into her arms. The dead man is the same man that just gave her a ride. And then the movie ends.

So at first I was excited. Then the more he talked about it, the more nervous I got. I am very outgoing around my friends but when I'm in a group of new people, I am sooo shy....so I was nervous to act in front of all his friends (his "crew"). I was also nervous to hold some guy I'd never met in my arms. Yeah awkward.

Well last night we filmed the movie! You can ask Jorge and Travis I was absolutely DREADING it!! I was sooo nervous and just so mad at myself for telling Mitch I'd do it. Luckily my friend Katherine came with me so it wasn't as scary. But it turns out it wasn't scary at all!!! It was soooo fun!!!!! All the guys we worked with were way cool (except one was creepy and stared at me a lot) and the other actor was really nice. We filmed part of it at South Mountain and the rest of it in a dark parking lot (the car ride...they had all these cool effects to make it look like the car was really moving). We started about 6 or 6:30 and didn't finish til 12:30 or so!! His project is due TODAY so he stayed up all night editing it. I am so excited to see the finished project! He said he'll give me a copy of it, and he'll put it on Facebook and Youtube so maybe you guys can see it sometime if I'm not too embarrassed.

Overall it was a great experience and really neat and fun. And it was good to see Mitch again! He is such a cool guy!! And I think he's just about the only non-LDS Eagle Scout that I know haha.

The end.

My Miracle

Okay so I have an important story to tell. It all started tonight in the Walmart parking lot. (Okay I promise this is not a creepy or inappropriate story.) Travis Birch and I hung out tonight and we didn't know what to do, so we decided to be bums and go to Walmart. As we were leaving at about 10:20, there were tons and tons and tons of moths flying around the lights in the lot. Travis named it the cloud of moths.

After I got home from dropping Travis off, I noticed there were about 6 or 7 grasshoppers on my front porch. And that was only under one porch light. We have 3. So I suppose there were really probably closer to 15 or so. I texted Travis and told him I believed the cloud of moths we saw was actually a cloud of grasshoppers. He texted me back and told me there were several grasshoppers outside of his house, too, and that maybe it was a sign of the Second Coming. (For real!!)

I was sitting on the couch and Travis (my brother) commented about the number of grasshoppers that were swarming outside.

My whole family went to bed. And THEN!!! I noticed there was a grasshopper flying around in my house!!!!! I have a question to ask: WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?!?! When I was younger I used to spend my entire recess catching grasshoppers and butterflies and dragonflies and ladybugs. Literally the entire recess. But NOW I absolutely FREAK out if a creature lands on me. Especially in my hair. So naturally I was sitting there paranoid that this grasshopper was going to jump me. Jump on me. Whatever.

I made some feeble attempts to catch it...and somehow thought I would be able to do that without it touching my hands. Hah. Needless to say I did not catch it. It kept flying all over the place, doing crazy spirals and spins and flips in the air then landing for a few minutes. I decided it was time to pray...I know, I am that pathetic. (Not that praying is pathetic. But I think praying for protection from a grasshopper might be a little pathetic.)

So I said a prayer that went something like this: "Please bless the grasshopper. Please bless that it will not land on me. Please bless that I can somehow get it out of the house."

What should happen next but a miracle.

My dear beloved doggy Scruffy wanted outside. I opened the backdoor for him. Don't jump ahead of yourselves in the story! The grasshopper did not miraculously jump outside. Something even better happened.

As Scruffy walked past me to go outside, the grasshopper JUMPED ONTO THE DOG and rode on his fur outside into the night!!!!!!!!!!! THAT was the most HILARIOUS answer to a prayer I have EVER received. Heavenly Father DOES listen and He DOES have a sense of humor!! Hahaha. Just thought I'd share!!!

Ugh.

So remember in my last post how I said I want to move away?

Well, I really really want to now.

I'm so tired of everything in my life right now. Moving away all by myself far away would be an adventure. I'd get to know myself better and become more self-reliant and responsible. I wouldn't have to worry about pleasing anyone, it'd just be me. No one to pretend for. No one to hurt. No one to be hurt by. No one to annoy or be annoyed by.

I guess that sounds really selfish. But today I realized that I live my life trying to please others. Not trying to suck up to people but just trying to always genuinely be on everyone's good side, whether it means sacrificing my own happiness and dignity or not. Well I'm tired of that.

Ugghh

Right now is one of those times where I'm tempted to just pack all of my stuff and move to some completely random location without telling anyone. (I guess I just ruined it.)

Also I've been thinking about random stuff lately....how weird our culture is. We've shortened a smile and something to the effect of, "Hi! How are you today? Have a good day, see ya!" to a simple jerk of the chin. We've shortened "I'm going to" to "Imma." We don't say any of our words correctly....for example "wooden" isn't "wood-en," it's "woodn." "Button" is not "but-ton" it's "buh-n." We are so weird. Or maybe just rude and lazy.

The end.

Derek Mathias Schell and more!

It's crazy to me how smells can have such a powerful effect on me. Sometimes I'll catch a whiff of something or someone that really strongly brings back a memory or feeling, it is so nostalgic!! This comes to my mind because tonight at work I was on register and this grandma lady and her grandson walked up and one of them (I'm pretty sure the little boy) smelled just like my best friend Derek did in high school. I literally sat there inhaling with my eyes closed for like 5 seconds (that doesn't sound long but try inhaling deeply for 5 seconds!) haha it sounds creeperish of me!!! But it was the weirdest thing....all of these memories/feelings about Derek came back to me and I felt like we were best friends again. (We're still friends but it's more of a text each other every couple of months thing. It's sad..) I felt something physically too, almost like I was about to hug him or something, it was so weird. I really almost cried. I miss Derek a lot.

I think I wrote about him in my post from several months ago about people I love...but here I go again! Haha. I don't know if he even knows how much he affected my life....I've told him but I don't think he really knows. My sophomore year in high school was terrible but Derek was there for me the whole time. He helped me through that awful year. There are few people I have cared for as much as I cared for Derek. He is so great!
On another note, I'm excited for tomorrow!!! General conference!! Celesta, Brianna, Travis, Travis and I are going over to Jorge's to make a huge delicious breakfast and then watch conference tomorrow since it will be Jorge's first time since he got baptized. I'm really really excited!! :D I love all my friends so much! And I absolutely love listening to conference, it makes life so much better, more meaningful, and more hopeful. It's great!
The other night Travis and I went to a concert. Suburban Legends and Forever the Sickest Kids played, along with 4 other bands. It was the longest concert ever!! Like 4.5 hours it was crazy....but it was so good! Suburban Legends was amazing as always!! And before the concert I only knew 2 or 3 songs by FTSK but they were sooo awesome! I bought their album (like 10 songs for only $7 on Itunes!) and oohhh my goodness! So amazing. As a matter of fact I'm listening to them right now. Anyways.
And now I'd better get to bed because I need to wake up in like 6-7 hours and I've really been slacking in the sleep department lately haha.....bye!
